Rutgers University–Camden Update and Resources

Sent Monday, March 23, 2020

To the Campus Community:

I bring greetings to you all after an unquestionably unique experiencing of spring break!

Rutgers continues to operate, albeit in a dramatically different way. Our students and our faculty will continue to engage in the world-class Rutgers academic experience, now through remote instruction and online interactions. They’re working – and so is the rest of the campus. Our administrative offices continue to function, predominately remotely, and remain focused upon ensuring continuous support for students, faculty, staff, and alumni, as well as the citizens of New Jersey.

This transition will facilitate our commitment to enabling our students to continue to meet their goals. As news of developments across the nation and here unfold, it becomes clear that this undertaking is an unprecedented venture and that there will be challenges as we proceed. However, we have done our utmost to ensure – to the extent feasible – that the services that our community relies upon are available and functioning. Although most of our offices of necessity are functioning remotely, you can access the support you need by visiting the webpage for that office and sending an email. A member of our staff will get back to you as quickly as possible. Some units also are offering virtual office hours and others are offering WebEx support.

The following list has links to the websites of some of the commonly contacted offices. The links offer the best ways to contact the relevant units.

On Saturday, the State of New Jersey issued an order to close all libraries and computing labs at New Jersey’s colleges and universities. Accordingly, the Paul Robeson Library and the Law Library are closed, as are the student computing labs. Online services are available from Rutgers University Libraries. Similarly, while the University District Bookstore is closed, it continues to function online. You may enjoy free shipping as you shop online for course materials, supplies, and Rutgers clothing and gifts at the bookstore’s website, which also includes information about free online texts.

There are many more services, and you can find them using the Rutgers Search function or this alphabetical listing of Rutgers University-Camden offices. Keep up to date on our responses to the COVID-19 pandemic and be sure to continue to take every precaution to maintain your health.

Rutgers University-Camden is known and respected for our commitment to serving our students and the community. We are determined that we shall continue to do so in the months ahead. Working together, our campus community will emerge from these challenging times – stronger and with an unprecedented resiliency.

Please continue to take appropriate precautions to enable you and your loved ones to be well.

Phoebe A. Haddon, J.D., LL.M.
