To the Campus Community:

On Saturday, April 28, we will hold Rutgers Day 2018 here at Rutgers University–Camden to provide the residents of South Jersey and the greater Delaware Valley region with the unparalleled opportunity to enjoy the achievements and personality of our wonderful campus.

During the past two years, Rutgers University–Camden has enjoyed unqualified success with Rutgers Day. In 2017, more than 3,000 visitors converged on our campus to experience first-hand our excitement and spirit.

This daylong event offers every academic unit, student organization, alumni group, and administrative office the chance to demonstrate how the Rutgers tradition of excellence comes to life every day here at Rutgers–Camden. The University will promote Rutgers Day 2018 and we anticipate again bringing thousands of guests – including families with children – to enjoy interactive exhibits and to get to know our campus.

While Rutgers Day happens simultaneously at Camden, Newark, and New Brunswick, April 28 also is part of our Alumni Weekend and we look forward to having graduates return to campus and celebrate our shared accomplishments.

We need your imagination and energy in order to make Rutgers Day 2018 a day to remember for South Jersey and the entire region. Please submit your programs now. Log in with your Rutgers NetID. The submission period ends Friday, Feb. 16.

As you plan your programs, let these important points serve as a guide:

  1. Rutgers Day is a terrific opportunity to showcase who we are and what we do. Also, it’s Alumni Weekend, so it’s the perfect time to celebrate your scarlet pride.
  2. Who comes to Rutgers Day in Camden? Approximately 40% of participants are under 17 years old, so make sure your program is fun, hands-on, and interactive! About 30% of participants are visitors and prospective students, so Rutgers Day is an opportunity to promote the value of the Rutgers–Camden experience and degree.
  3. If you need program ideas, visit the Archive tab of the Rutgers Day website and browse past programs from across the University for some inspiration.

The range of ways to highlight our accomplishments is limited only by your creativity, and Kristin Walker (director, campus events) is ready to provide you with ideas and examples of successful Rutgers Day exhibits. Contact Kristin at (856) 225-6325 or I know that she is happy to meet with your group or unit to discuss the possibilities. We want to make this a day to remember so think with imagination and innovation!

As we approach Rutgers Day 2018, we will provide additional updates. For now, I strongly encourage you and your teams, colleagues, and classmates to sign up before Friday, Feb. 16, to make sure that you are part of the festivities.

Thank you for all that you do on behalf of Rutgers University–Camden. I’m looking forward to joining you as our campus opens its doors for the region on Saturday, April 28.
