Visitors Invited to Add Their Voices to “Sounds of Camden” Exhibition

campusThe Rutgers–Camden Center for the Arts invites visitors to share their voices – thoughts, feelings, and memories of Camden – in an interactive recording booth in the Stedman Gallery.

These recordings will become part of the “Sounds of Camden exhibition” and be made available for all visitors to hear using a separate listening station.

“You may record in any fashion you choose – a prepared or improvised statement, poem, song – and anonymously or not,” says Miranda Powell, program assistant for arts education and community arts for the Rutgers–Camden Center for the Arts.

To reserve a recording time or for more information, contact Powell at (856) 225-6202.

The “Sounds of Camden” exhibition, which showcases the rich, audible heritage of Camden, will run through Dec. 18 in the Stedman Gallery. Hours are Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Thursdays until 8 p.m.

The Stedman Gallery is located in the Fine Arts Complex. For further information regarding the exhibition or affiliated events, contact Nancy Maguire at (856) 225-6245.
