Student Organizations Run Alex’s Lemonade Stand on Campus

Alex's Lemonade StandRutgers University–Camden’s very own lemonade stand is open for business!

Student groups are working together to raise money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand and help support families that have children who are fighting cancer. The students built and painted a custom lemonade stand that will be set up in the Campus Center during free period once a week for the rest of the semester. So far, the students have raised $486.

The students are selling lemonade, pink lemonade, mixed iced tea and lemonade “Arnold Palmer” drinks, baked goods, and other items to raise money, which will be divided and donated to individual families with specific needs.

“Together, we can build collaboration among student groups, bring awareness to Alex’s Lemonade Stand and to organizations on campus, have students excited to work together for an amazing cause, take the focus of all the stress of work and school and life and put it into the mission of the stand,” says Erica Schwartz, coordinator of campus involvement at Rutgers–Camden.

Want to pitch in? Stop by the stand on one of the following dates and purchase lemonade for $1 or make your own donation. Student organizations running the stand that day are noted.

Monday, Dec. 1 (The German Club)

Tuesday, Dec. 9 (American Medical Student Association and African Student Association)

To extend the efforts of the students, Schwartz and Debbie Scheibler, assistant director of housing and residence life at Rutgers-Camden, are participating in the annual 5K Lemon Run in Philadelphia.
