Rutgers School of Business–Camden Executive Education Program Extends Global Reach to China

The Executive Education Program at the Rutgers School of Business–Camden, which provides online and classroom training solutions to companies and individuals around the world, has again proven that its network truly has a global reach.

Fourteen sales managers recently graduated from the Rutgers University–Camden/Caterpillar, Inc. Sales Management Certificate Program during a ceremony in Beijing, China. Rutgers–Camden and Caterpillar, Inc. collaborated in designing and implementing a multi-faceted online sales management program to enhance the sales capabilities and performance of Caterpillar dealers.

Caterpillar, Inc. is the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines, and diesel-electric locomotives.

“Over the past four years, we have delivered training programs to Caterpillar dealers in Asia, Africa, Australia, North America, South America, and Europe,” says Karen McCaffrey, assistant director for executive education at the Rutgers School of Business–Camden. “The Sales Management Certificate Program that recently concluded in Beijing was of particular interest because we delivered the entire 10-month training program not in English, but in Chinese.”

The Executive Education Program utilizes virtual technology in order to deliver high-value training programs that require no face-to-face classroom time.

McCaffrey says that based on the success of the program, the Rutgers School of Business–Camden will also develop and deliver a similar 10-month training program to Caterpillar’s service managers for their global dealer network. In 2014, nearly 100 Caterpillar service managers from Europe, Central America, and North America are participating in the Rutgers–Camden/Caterpillar Service Management Certificate Program.

The Executive Education Program is a two-time winner of the Chief Learning Officer Magazine Learning in Practice Award. In 2012, the leading business publication awarded the program with the bronze Learning in Practice Award for Excellence in E-Learning for its work with Caterpillar, Inc. In 2013, Rutgers–Camden was awarded the gold Learning in Practice Excellence in Academic Partnerships Award for its partnership with Graybar Electric Co.
