A Season for the Record Books

Men's SoccerThe Rutgers-Camden men’s soccer team concluded its storybook 2013 season with an overtime loss to Messiah in the Division III National Championship Game on Dec. 7, but still inspired pride and spirit throughout the region with a record-setting performance.

The Scarlet Raptors captured their third consecutive New Jersey Athletic Conference championship while compiling a  23-1-2 record.  The team went unbeaten in 37 straight games, dating back to 2012, the eighth-longest string in Division III men’s soccer history. Four Scarlet Raptors were named to the 2013 Division III NCAA All-Tournament team: Mitch Grotti, Mike Ryan, Joe Auleta, and Taylor McGrory, who was named Most Outstanding Defensive Player.
