Day of Service

_RLC3814More than 150 new Rutgers-Camden students spent a day working to improve their new host city, thanks to a New Student Day of Service that connects teams of Rutgers students to multiple city neighborhoods.

Working in collaboration with the Camden County Freeholder Board, these new students engaged in voluntary activities such as repainting bleachers and clearing brush at the baseball field in Von Nieda Park in Cramer Hill; performing clean-ups at Farnham Park and Cooper River Park in Parkside; repainting rooms at the Neighborhood Center in Bergen Square; and cleaning a street in Waterfront South.

The work reflects Rutgers-Camden’s commitment to civic engagement in all aspects of campus life, including academics and social activities.
