An Evening with Darryl “D.M.C.” McDaniels

planet hollywood opening 2 171107The Office of Campus Involvement will present an evening with Darryl “D.M.C.” McDaniels on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 8 p.m. in the Walter K. Gordon Theater.

McDaniels, known to the world as one-third of the trailblazing, multi-platinum rap group, RUN-D.M.C., will discuss “From The Old School to The New School: The History of Rap and Hip-Hop, Yesterday, Today, and into the Future.”

McDaniels formed the legendary group with Joseph “Run” Simmons and the late Jason “Jam Master Jay” Mizell in Hollis, Queens, in 1981. RUN-D.M.C. went on transform the musical landscape while selling more than 30 million albums and singles worldwide. Today, the group continues to be recognized as a pioneering influence on the popularity and style of hip-hop music and culture.

Admission is free for all Rutgers students, faculty, staff, and alumni with a valid Rutgers ID. Seats can be reserved, with a four-ticket limit per person, at the IMPACT Booth.
