Throughout the Rutgers system, the Camden Campus consistently earns high marks for the exceptional service that it provides to students, faculty, alumni, staff, and the general public.
Our reputation for providing the world-class Rutgers experience in a personalized manner is rooted firmly in the excellence of our staff employees. We all acknowledge that Rutgers–Camden is endowed with committed and creative staff who regularly help faculty and students to achieve (and surpass) their goals.
Once again, Rutgers–Camden will present the Chancellor’s Awards for Staff Excellence in Service to full-time employees who display superior service to members of the Rutgers–Camden community as well as to external constituents.
These awards acknowledge individual staff members who consistently exemplify high levels of effective and friendly service. Eligible employees for this award include staff in the following general categories: managerial/professional/supervisory; clerical/laboratory/technical; facilities/dining/police; and, more.
We also work collaboratively as teams in order to achieve goals across our campus. This award additionally will recognize teams, which can include departments, committees, work groups, and the like.
Recommendations (including self-recommendations) are encouraged and will be accepted through 5 p.m. Friday, April 18. Recommendation letters must acknowledge the following about the nominee(s):
- The nature of the nominee’s sustained service or special one-time contribution to the mission of the unit or campus
- How the nominee continually contributes to a positive, collaborative work environment
- The audiences served by the nominee (students, faculty, staff, alumni, prospective students, general public)
- How the nominee exhibits exceptional resourcefulness, innovation, or creativity
In order to be eligible for the award, nominees must be full-time employees on the Rutgers–Camden campus for at least one year prior to the nomination date. Staff members who work full-time on the Camden Campus and report to central University administrative units are also eligible.
Nomination letters may be sent to Greg O’Shea, human resources manager, via email (email@example.com) or campus mail by April 18.
A committee will review the nominations and advise me on their recommendations.
The awards will be announced in early May. It is my hope that the award winners and their managers will join me for a celebratory luncheon shortly thereafter. There is no monetary component to this award.
