Marissa uses a Facebook page called “The TAILS Network” to help find homes for animals that could be put to sleep. According to the magazine feature, there are 800 dogs and cats euthanized in the U.S. every hour. Six months after launching The TAILS Network. Ionno helped save more than 42 of them. She uses the Facebook page to circulate pictures of animals and find them new homes.

“Social media can reach millions of people,” she told the magazine, “so I thought, ‘Why not make an attempt to network some of these animals?’”
